So..what is gaseous compound?
Gaseous compound refers to the different trace gases, such as carbon monoxide, nitric oxide, nitrogen dioxide, and ozone that circulates around the atmosphere. The team’s aim is to understand how the atmosphere behave as result of climate change and human activities. As such, the instrument created is geared towards gathering data on the concentration of those gases as well as a meteorological profile of the atmosphere in order to observe their generation and depletion overtime. This is done using an electric pump and four different gas sensors for each respective trace gases that are being measured that are controlled and connected to an Arduino boards. The payload was flown in Alaska but was unfortunately lost in flight. The team aims to rebuild the payload within the next few months.
